COVID-19 Questions

Are you taking reservations for Winter 2021?

At this time, Sonoma County is under regional Stay at Home Orders and leisure stays at hotels and vacation rentals are not permitted. If you have a legitimate need for housing then we can host you for a short-term stay. If you are in need of long term housing (30+ days) then we can host you. Please email for more information.

Examples of legitimate need for housing:

⟐ your primary residence is uninhabitable

⟐ you are an essential worker and need housing while working close to the Guerneville area

⟐ you have COVID-19 or have been exposed to COVID-19 and need isolate

Are there any changes to the house due to COVID?

We want you to have a really fun and very safe vacation while staying at Lucky Bend Lookout, so we have made some temporary changes to the house in order to make the house as clean as possible for you. The house is stocked with hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, lysol spray, and bleach so you can clean as needed during your stay. We have also removed as many items as possible that you would frequently touch that could potentially get contaminated. Therefore we have temporarily removed the guest book, house guide book, pantry items, spices, oils, condiments, and ice trays. We have also removed some fabrics including throw pillows in the bedroom, and extra blankets. If you think you might want an extra blanket, we recommend you bring your own. You will also need to bring all of your own coffee, tea, sugar, spices, etc. We are very sorry that this will be an inconvenience for you. We are very proud of the fact that we usually provide a very well stocked kitchen and stylish decor, but we hope you will understand that these changes are for your safety. And lastly, there are no gap days left between reservations.

What are your COVID cleaning procedures?

Our professional cleaning company, Gyn Cleaning Services, is disinfecting and sanitizing with EPA endorsed products on frequently touched surfaces. In addition to cleaning with the disinfecting products they are applying disinfecting spray on sofas, throw pillows, and fabric head boards. All laundry is done with ultra disinfectant bleach, and washed and dried at the highest temperatures possible. Team members wear gloves and masks at all times, are required to wash hands before and after entering the home, disinfect cleaning equipment daily, and disinfect interior of vehicles daily. When they are finished cleaning the house, they leave the windows open to allow for good ventilation.

What happens if I have symptoms of COVID during my stay?

If you, or any of your party, start to show signs of COVID-19 during your stay, you should inform us immediately.  All guests will be required to go home to quarantine.

What is the COVID cancellation policy?

In the event that the guest’s local region or Sonoma County declares a Stay at Home Order that is effective during the dates of the guest’s short-term reservation (reservation less than 30 days), the reservation can be transferred to a future date within 12 months, or a 100% refund will be provided.

REGULAR CANCELLATION POLICY for short-term reservation: In the event Guest wishes to terminate this agreement, Travel Insurance, Damage Protection and any processing or administrative fees are non-refundable.  One hundred percent of the base rental amount, tax, and cleaning free will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 30 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation.  If the cancellation is made within 30 days of the arrival date, the the base rental amount, tax, and cleaning free will not be refunded.  If Guest or host is able to find and substitute new guests for the same time period, the entire rental amount will be refunded if booked at the same rate; if the house is re-booked for a lower rate then the Guest will be partially refunded according to the new rental amount.  Owner may help Guest look for new guests but it is not the obligation of the Owner to find them.

Where is Lucky Bend Lookout Located?

Lucky Bend Lookout is just 1 mile west of downtown Guerneville and 2 miles east of downtown Monte Rio.The nearest airports are in Santa Rosa, Oakland, San Francisco, and Sacramento.

What type of activities can I enjoy while staying at Lucky Bend Lookout?

Lucky Bend Lookout is located on the banks of the Russian River and is the perfect place to stay for enjoying the water in the summertime. There are numerous regional parks and state parks nearby, with many opportunities for enjoying the coast, prairies, and forests. There are strolls and hikes available at all difficulty levels. Lucky Bend Lookout is also in Sonoma County Wine Country and makes a great home base for a weekend of wine tasting. There are many dining options from casual to upscale, and there are also microbreweries, cideries and distilleries you can enjoy. Do I need a car?

Yes, a car is strongly recommended for maximum enjoyment of your stay since public transportation is limited.

What time is check-in and check-out?

Check-in is at 4:00 pm, and check-out is at 11:00 pm.

Is smoking allowed?

No smoking or vaping of any substance is allowed anywhere on the property.

Do you allow pets?

Sorry, pets are not allowed. The home owners are allergic to pet dander.

Is there parking?

Yes, 2 cars can park tandem in the garage, and one car can park in the driveway. Sonoma County limits us to three cars maximum so please plan to carpool as necessary.

Is there WiFi and cable TV?

Yes, we have Sonic DSL with 20Mbs speed, and we have a smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+. We have been able to participate in 3 simultaneous zoom calls without problems.

Do you provide baby equipment?

Yes, we provide pack n’ play, bumbo chair, high chair (attaches to dining chair), folding stroller, & toddler bed rail. We also provide a bin of toys, games, and books.

What is the weather like?

In Guerneville the summers are long, warm, dry, and mostly clear. The winters are short, cold, wet, and partly cloudy. The warm season is from early June to mid-October, with an average daily high temperature above 74°F. The hottest day of the year is usually in mid-August, with an average high of 79°F but can often go up to 90°F. The cool season is from from mid- November to mid-February with an average daily high temperature below 60°F. The coldest day of the year is around December 31, with an average low of 37°F and high of 55°F.

Are there shops and restaurants near Lucky Bend Lookout?

Yes, there are various shops, restaurants, and a Safeway supermarket 1 mile away in downtown Guerneville.
